This achieved the desired light output and coverage, however the luminaire tilt calculated to only 82°-84°. Our liaison, LTCol Phillip R. Howard, was pleased with the average .25 avg. fc with a 2.5 avg/min ratio, a significant improvement over the previous lighting arrangement. However, he was predictably inundated with calls from personnel at the adjacent Louisville National Airport. Apparently our lights were too bright for some.
After a slight 5°-10° visual downward adjustment of the beams, the phone calls ceased and LTCol Howard received accolades for his accomplishment.
