Robust Heat Sink (Thermal Management)

How the lights are designed will dictate what happens to the heat they generate.   Direct excessive heat from grow lights onto cannabis plants will damage or stress out the plants as well as dictate the overall health of plants.

Too much grow light heat will also produce powdery mildew which will rob the cannabis plants of water and nutrients. The plants weaken and flower production declines.

High temperatures and humidity can create conditions favorable for pest infestations.  Pests like spider mites, will extract fluids from plant cells reducing the plant’s overall health making them more susceptible to other stressors like diseases.

High temperatures can also lead to a decrease in yield diverting its energy away from growth and bud development to defend against the pests.

Next, too much heat from the light will also cause water to evaporate from your plant’s soil more quickly which can lead to nutrient burn which in turn will cause damage to the plant’s roots and foliage.  High temperatures in the root zone can negatively impact nutrient absorption and microbial activity in the soil, affecting overall plant health.

Flora Heat Sink chartThen you have the degradation of the LEDs themselves: When LEDs get too hot, their efficiency or light output decreases while using the same amount of electricity, resulting in you turning them up to compensate for the degradation thereby consuming more power—–again, does that make sense? It will ultimately result in shortening the life of the LEDs.

Most importantly, LED degradation eventually will result color changing or color shifting… meaning  your proven spectrum, or the cornerstone of your profitability,  is going to change.

Flora Heat Sink color shiftingWhat’s happening is the LEDs are coated with various phosphors which helps to create a spectrum to mimic sunlight. Excessive heat also burns off the phosphors, causing color changing or shifting. While this might not matter much for parking lot lighting, roadways, or other non-horticulture it’s crucial for your grow operation, as your plants rely on a proven spectrum for optimal growth.

LED Chips

These chips are currently considered the best chips in the industry for a number of reasons:

  1. Improve efficiency thereby reducing energy use.
  2. Extends performance and reliability.
  3. Encompasses a broader spectrum of light from blue and green to red.
  4. Enhances immunity from plant disease and providing greater nutritional value.

Conformal Coating

  1. Reliable without affecting light properties.
    1. No impact on light transmission for optical clarity
  2. No color shifting
  3. Stands up the harsh horticultural environment.
    1. Repels water
    2. Excellent chemical resistance
  4. Typically X4 the thickness of most competitors
  5. High heat tolerance.
  6. Keeps contamination from reaching sensitive internal electronics

Powder Coated Finish

Powder Coated finish provides a more durable finish for horticultural environments because grow lights are more resistant to impact, moisture, chemicals, ultraviolet light, and other extreme weather conditions. This reduces the risk of scratches, chipping, abrasions, corrosion, fading, and other wear issues.

Enhances immunity from plant disease and providing greater nutritional value.

Stainless Steel Hardware

SpecGrade uses all steel hardware because they do not rust or tarnish and they are strong and will hold up to the harsh horticultural corrosive environments.

Remote Driver

Having a quality Inventronics remote driver (plug & play) enables the grower to easily change out the driver quickly and with no tools.

Powerful LED Grow Light

The Linea was designed for the professional cultivator to provide photobiological and engineering excellence. Whether your intent is to use this grow light as supplemental or sole source lighting this next generation Linea will provide your crops with unmatched uniformity and virtually no shadowing.

Our proprietary double-folded aluminum heat-sinking fins are engineered to ensure the LEDs will perform at the lowest operating temperature ensuring the longest life.

And finally, with 720 Watts in total power we can generate a layout that will provide your crop the exact amount of micromoles necessary to increase yields, quality and vegetables, fruits and flowers to cannabis and hemp our proven spectrums will consistanty optimize your grow facility.

Specgrade’s Spectrums

The A1 is designed for growing plants from vegetative to flowering stages in indoor environments. Enjoy a comfortable growing environment comparable to full sun with vivid colors due to A1’s CRI rating of 96.
